So I am browsing ebay and came across this listing with the following concerning their "feedback" policy. What do you think? Shouldn't they leave feedback automatically since you completed your end of the transaction?

"Sorry about the inconvenience but everyone's feedback is important.

Due to a high volume of not receiving feedbacks, we will now be leaving feedback after it is received."

I always leave a feedback after the payment has cleared as a seller, within a few days after receiving the product, and sometimes a few days more if there was a return of the product, but right after the payment has been returned.

I wish others were as timely/courteous. I have a couple items that are still feedback-free from the seller/buyer.

I leave feedback after the buyer leaves me some, because there are to many who go berserk and request unreasonable demands. I see they are satisfied when they leave feedback, and then leave them some.

As a seller I tell my clients that if they received the product and are happy with it to leave me feedback and that way I know they received the product and are happy, I will leave feedback for them at that time. As a buyer I leave feedback as soon as I receive the product, make sure its as promised and positive I wont be sending it back.

Just my thoughts

I guess I am having trouble understanding why a seller would wait until they get a feedback before leaving one. It would seem to make more sense to leave feedback upon receiving payment.

Basically because the transaction isn't complete until they say theyre happy. It can also encourage them to leave feedback if they want it themselves or possibly make them think twice before just being absurd with their feedback

You cant really do anything as a seller in terms of feedback, but if the buyers unreasonable most people would rather not leave them good feedback.

Buyer feedback is meaningless anyway, it should just be removed all together since all you can do is say they were great.
