Hi evry1, I found this ten cent piece 2 days ago and it's in beautiful condition, I can't see any traces of circulation on it at all, however there looks to be a die break mark that goes from the denticles to the T across the top to the R and touches the left top of the I along with die raise beside most of the wording on the face. The coin is in beautiful condition and since I really don't collect coins I'll probably sell this. I emailed Louis at Canadian Coin Certification in Montreal as to weather I should get it graded. Sorry for not so clear pics, I may have someone to take good sharp close ups tomorrow. I did wash it very gently in warm water and a bit of mild dish soap. Thanks, Jon.

Dish soap? That's bad. Hopefully it was organic. Always use only distilled water. Good luck!

 - Looks detailed even though its blurry. I don't collect those myself but if you sell it you might want to post a link here for the people who do collect them. Nice find

Ty Pennyman, yes a friend of mine checked it thoroughly and he figures it's in a un-circulated condition with all the die ridges intact and no wear on any parts of the detail including the hair braids, there is still a bit of tiny fleck dirt on it but I'm not touching it anymore lol. thanks for your post of info.

Between kingston and Brockville about 200 yards from the St. Lawrence. It was in a dry red sandy soil under a huge tree, only about an inch down. looks like grass has never grown there, only moss covering the whole area. I hope these pictures are better for seeing the detail. Cheers. Jon

A really nice coin.
This could be the start of a beautiful collection!
Lets hope you don't sell it and you can be a coin collector like the rest of us here. You certainly won't be short of some numismatic buddies, here in the CCF!
