oih82w8 Pillar of the Community United States 7840 Posts	Posted 10/15/2013 2:43 pm If it is a TPG certified coin it will have "details" (code 92 for PCGS) on the slab insert. Other than that, it can be a daunting task, this is one of the reasons I shy away from raw coins. Photoshopping, colored lighting or other imaging manipulation can hide or disguise the "color" of a coin. A cleaned coin will appear "lifeless" and/or washed out. I was skunked at a major coin show,(Chicago this summer). I knew from other members VT and NoHope The seller said he would pay me back but I kept the coin. Was I skunked? Ya but, this was a learning lesson for me. I need to know more about grading raw coins details or clean! Report this Post to the Staff
