I just won this Vicky on an ebay auction.
The reverse is pretty unremarkable ...

Here's the obverse ...

You can see impressions of the reverse beads between Victoria's head and the obverse beads. Also, incomplete D's. Here is a bigger view of that area. ...

Is this a fairly common variety for an 1876H?

Jerry,

The following NGC web site is actually pretty up-to-date regarding the identification of variety and error non-US coins:

http://www.ngccoin.com/poplookup/wo...mSearch=true

It appears that this clash does not yet appear in their inventory.

Should you decide to send an email/inquiry to NGC with these photos attached, they may possibly make a new entry for KM # 7 based upon your findings.

Please keep this CCF thread posted of your findings should you decide to pursue this or any other related suggestion.

very nice coin...

This is the most common type of die clash found on Victoria Large Cents. I documented this and many others back in 2008 when I published an article in the CN Journal. Here is a link to the article and a couple of others I have published as well. enjoy! http://victorialargecents.blogspot....rticles.html

And also a piece on my blog from 2011

Most of the clashes you see on 1876 are what Jerry_B posted for obverse. On the reverse, you get the outline of the top of Vickys head and perhaps the bun.
