I picked up 4 classic commemorative halves to add to my small collection recently.

I was on the lookout for a Texas and an Oregon Trail and wanted one of the lower mintage dates just because and was lucky to find a dealer at the local show a couple of weeks ago who had both for a good price.

The scratches on the Texas are on the slab

Nice pick ups. The Oregon and Texas will be part of my 7070 when I get to those. I was tempted today at a show. A guy had a set of Texas P, D and S all MS66, with consecutive numbers. Luckily I don't know pricing so I just looked. Another coin was an almost buy just for fun. A guy had a PCGS FH AU58 SLQ for $170. I know without pictures it doesn't prove anything but they are out there. He was dealing too so who knows maybe it would have come down some.

Very nice ... are you trying to assemble a classic commemorative set?

Thanks for the photos.

Not intentionally.

I have just run out of affordable holes to fill in my albums.

I didn't know anything about classic commemoratives until I got a 7070 and felt the holes should be filled with classics and not moderns.

I started with the affordable ones like Columbus, Stone Mountain, Booker T, and Washington Carver but have "upgraded" the holes or added to my collection with a Pilgrim and the 4 above as I have studied and learned more about them.

I might go for a Cleveland next as the great lakes and compass design is appealing or maybe go big and get a Spanish trail as it is the only one that I know of that depict Mississippi specifically other than the ones that show the whole US on them.

Congrats on your latest pickups!

A word of caution, the Long Island appears to have been cleaned and scratched at some point in its past. From your images, there appear to be light scratches on the obverse and reverse that may have come from a past cleaning.

You might want to check with the dealer from whom you purchased the coin.
