Uncleaned Lot Of Denarii - Coin Community Forum

I got them from a very reputable dealer, and I'm quite happy with them so far. It seems that the bottom right is Septimius Saverous, and the bottom left is Julia Domna. Any guesses as to the top two? Where they in fact entirely silver (some high percentage, that is)? Or were they silver-clad copper? I'm just wondering since as I have been cleaning the Caracalla and the Julia it seems that the reverses are starting to look like silver is peeling away to reveal copper. Is it possible that this is the case or would that "copper" just be corrosion? Report this Post to the Staff
