Minor lamination in the first photo, the rest of the photos show a coin that has been struck with over-polished obverse dies. Can be found in 1977, 1978 and 1979 1-cent coins, with 1979 being the most common.

I could see the lamination flaw but would have never guessed the over polished dies on the other pics, glad to hear about it though.. beats sitting here starring at it thinking "how'd that happen".
I have seen this type of error called a "veiled face" and so that is the name that I have been giving it. It can also be found on 1981, 1980, 1974, 1973, and 1972 that I know of...maybe more.
