I have had this in my 'Misc.' collection' for about 20 years and have always wondered what it is. It appears to be bronze. It is about the size of a quarter but a tiny bit smaller. It weighs 5.81 g or .205 oz. The rim

What-Is-This-Coin-?-Blank?-Other? is plain. Any ideas?

Probably a game counter or place holder from a fancy set. Back in the day they were very mindful of how the parts of the games looked and what they were made out of.

I would assume it's a generic token of some kind. Whoever buys a bunch of such tokens can make "1" mean whatever they want: 1 game, 1 cigar, 1 dollar, 1 entry through the turnstile...

From the style of the number, I'd guess it was early 20th century - pre-1960s, but probably not pre-1900.
