You know, today was a slow day work wise, as I didnt have to manage much of any positions. So I did some other things but took time to ebay and make a want list.

While looking at items on ebay, I really started to think about how great and useful this site is.

1- The vast knowledge. I mean its already here. While browsing Buffalo nickels, I read threads here to get some primers and ideas about what I should look for. Just like that, I searched the site and BAM, I had it.

2- Comparing prices- Several times I have asked about prices on coins, or getting a coin and where to get it from. Immediately, the great folks on here put in a response. Thats just so great, you cant beat it.

3- Feed back and ideas. There are just so MANY ways to start collecting. Where do you start? How do you start? What years? Whats it going to cost? All these sort of questions I have gotten answered or gotten some great ideas by reading those threads.

Those are my key points why I love this forum and site. Makes me want to contribute more and more, in fact I was moved to even donate, because there are TON of great people here and great mods, I know they have a hectic job and its not EASY, I remember having some friends that ran a huge site for another hobby and it was a ton of work, and costs.

so guys, I love you all and support this site however you can to make it even greater!

Back to the OP if we may ...

yup7676 ... your generous comments appear to be leaning towards site 'supporter' status ... note the green check box in my reply.

Supporters of this great forum contribute the financial support to allow us to continue .. that is IMHO just as important as the numismatic support.

Please consider become a 'supporter' ... your gift will help all of us to continue enjoying exactly what you shared.

It has only taken me a tad over 3 years to post as many times as I have.

I like the CCF.

Why?

I have found acceptance here.

I have very wide ranging numismatic interests from ancient to modern, and the CCF caters for all of those interests, across most of the sub forums.
I know quite a bit numismatically, but most of the specialists in their respective areas know more than I do.
So I have still much to learn.

That puts me in some sort of numismatic half way house.
I have been able to help, and I have been on the receiving end of some excellent numismatic help also.

This is the only numismatic site I post on, but I also post on classic car sites.

@nickel

Yes, actually I did make a donation the other day. I dunno maybe I missed something? But I did make a donation for the site yesterday.

And you, I agree with you, helping financially is something everyone should consider doing.

This site is excellent for its informed and respectful dialogue. The mods do such excellent jobs helping to make sure the tone here is educational and positive. When I need to research something, I always start here. Not to mention the moral support and commradarie for other times. Thank you Bobby and Susan for creating this haven.
