Why do penny's get this green yucky on them especially this 1993 penny? I heard your not suppose to clean your coins off because it might ruin them if they are of value but how would you know if there of any value with a bunch of green stuff on them? There probably just garbage I would think with green stuff on them or just a penny to spend as a penny

The green stuff is just copper leaching off the coin. It doesn't make the coin worth anything and in coins to collect, it reduces value.

I don't think acetone would help that one very much. Zlincolns corrode if you look at them funny.
