I thought that this might be a Tony Pius but I can't find anything on wildwinds that might be the reverse. Any suggestions?

I don't usually clean coins....Other than to put olive oil on my brit, us and canadian pennies (Coppers)...Experts say olive oil because it is a natural substance..Supposed to help the numismatists that hav not been born yet,,,in that will stop further rusting of coin....After a few days then I wrap coins in white Holders.....Coins that don't rust don't nessasary need olive oil dipped on a wipe rag...like a Cu-Ni, certain I will call them "Brass ey" tokens also don't need...OLder low value silver (Ag) coins I will put olive oil on them...After couple days I wipe off oil and rag turns to corrosion color green, then I reapply more oil then still later wrap in white 2x2 holders.......If yu are going to wipe off dirt (Scratch coin)then do it in clockwise circle, then anti-clockwise motion....from center outwards..As stated earlier an MS-coin will possible not turn green color wipe rag....and that is why I do not add olive oil to all coins and not MS coins....I do not scratch MS coins either.......

This came in a lot that I bought. I certainly didn't do this damage, it actually looks more environmental. I am just trying to figure out what it is.

Hard to say, but it might be Septimius Severus.

Very hard to say. Thanks Echizento. Not been able to find a reverse under SS but will have another look tomorrow. Maybe I can say it is "thought to be...." I was hoping to use it in a little project I am thinking about. Putting together a small collection for a local school (if I can find one that is interested). Maybe add a few coins that could be given to interested kids, but they really need to be attributable. Overcleaned stuff is ideal.

I doubt the coin could be fully identifiable, sorry I couldn't help.

The bust looks more like Marcus Aurelius or even Lucius Verus to me.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think it will have to be left as unknown. It was a bit of a stretch, but worth the try.

Well, wait up there. I have something which might match up. Its from a myth - I reckon that curve is an off centre shield from this rare type:

Help-With-Over-Cleaned-Coin

ANTONINUS PIUS. 138-161 AD. Æ As (9.29 gm, 12h).
Struck circa 141-143 AD. Laureate head right /
ANCILIA IMPERATOR II, two ancilia (shields), each
with rounded projections above and below. RIC III
736a; BMCRE 1630; Cohen 30.

Obverse legend doesn't match (this is Antony P), but perhaps the reverse is a bit closer.

That's a really good and kind idea PP! I will send you some low grade stuff to help with that.
