1939 Florin Unknown Die Crack Varietie Opinions Appreciated

Derro New Member Australia 15 Posts	Posted 10/28/2013 04:44 am Howdy all I am new to this forum but have been collecting Australian pre decimal coins for many years and have a fairly extensive collection. I have recently purchashed a 1939 florin that I believe to be uncirculated condition. I have a few 1939 florins and have never seen any sort of error on any of the 1939 florins. This coin has a die crack running through back of emu as per pictures. I cannot find a varietie in renniks or any other information on the internet so I thought I would bring it to the attention of a good coin forum. Comments and opinions on this issue would be appreciated not sure what value this coin would fetch if it gets slabbed unc. Sorry just realised photos can't be blown up to show die crack so here is the ebay item number of the coin 370920544298 for better pictures. enworb Pillar of the Community Australia 4411 Posts	Posted 10/28/2013 06:58 am Are you sure its not a scratch? IMO there are too many scratches and dings to get an UNC grading but its still much better than average condition. Report this Post to the Staff

It is definitely a die crack as it is raised and close inspection shows it up well, you are probably right about the grade after careful consideration I would grade ef+ or aunc. Item was not very expensive so happy if it comes ef or more. Main reason I posted here is to see if any1else has come across any errors on the 1939 florin. Thank you Report this Post to the Staff
Derro New Member Australia 15 Posts	Posted 02/20/2014 03:24 am Well just got this coin back from pcgs and it got graded ms-62unc here is the cert number 28786989 if wasn't for the bag mark it owuld of pulled choice ms-63 at least I have found that a few distracting bag marks dont take away the low end unc grading Report this Post to the Staff
