I finally bought a big bronze Ptolemy:

Ptolemy III AE37

Head of Zeus right wearing the Horn of Ammon.

BASILEWS PTOLEMAIOY, Eagle standing left on thunderbolt, head right, wings closed, Cornucopia on shoulder right, E between legs.

Svoronos 974. Struck 247-220 BC.

70 euros, expensive but worth it I think!

I think it won't fit in my capsules

Very nice coin, good detail. Bit on the small side for the issue, but mahoosive compared to late roman monograms.

But 70 euros? Id see if you can return that. I got my 40mm one for £50 (and it came with a pretty nice punic copper). This one being £60, although nicer condition wise, is pretty small. Theres looooads of these between 28-39mm (these are what I call 'tiddlers'), but when you get to the 40mm threshold thats when they get rare and id recommend you try and wait it out for a nice big one.

70 pounds and id send you my 40mm and ill play the waiting game...

Thats a wicked cool coin. The head reminds me of the European kings heads on old 15-18th century silver coins. But there is definetely a greek-ness about it

Is it possible to get a large Ptolemy (35-39mm) for 20-30 euros? Would love to have that head in my collection

Nice coin ! The big ones in pleasing condition are around $100 over on this side of the world. Medium size (30mm) about half that.
I like the small ones too !

My little boy 22mm. I bought it long ago and don't remember what I paid.
I would guess .... $20
