No collection would be complete without the Julio-Claudians ! Well worth the price too. It seems like Claudius is way down in the market these days which is always nice for buying ! I myself was shocked this week to have won a Nero Claudius Drusus sestertius for the 'fantastic' price of $66 ! The seller's photo was miserable ..... I am hoping the 'buyer's photo will be taken when the mail arrives later today !
Many years ago a good friend (dealer) told me that the AE coins of Claudius which have the tip of the bust tailing off the bottom are the 'Spanish' issues which ceased production of the provincial types in favor of Imperial coinage at this time. Did you 'snag' this one by way of Hispania ?
