This coin I have put to one side intending to donate it with a small collection of coins, to a local school.

No legends, fairly chewed up. Is it Vespasian? Don't want to be giving away a Galba

Vespasian?

Vespasian?
or maybe this way up
Vespasian?

28mm 12.69g looks like brass.

Edit: Helps to post the right pics

That coin is an appropriate post for Halloween. Scary

Sorry pish-- that's a coin only a mother (or Ben) could love

It feels nice in the hand, hoping that kids would be impressed. Really need to give him his right name though :)

Sorry with no detail and no legend the ID of this coin is lost to time. Maybe Augustus, that was my first thought. Looks like a skinny right facing bust. Outside of that no idea.

Definitely trajan and a very nice type which I've been after...Id give you a Vespasian in trade for that any day!

Its got the longest legend on any coin and it is pretty impressive. I'm sure FR will post his example, but heres the legend:

IMP CAES NER TRAIANO OPTIMO AVG GER DAC PARTHICO P M TR P COS VI P P
(Emperor, Caesar Nerva Trajan, the best leader, Augustus, victorious over Germamy, Dacia, Parthia (it holds a different meaning in latin with no short english translation), highest priest, tribune of the people, Consul of Rome for the sixth year, father of the country)

Eck...just read TIFs post. I'm way too predictable!
