Ronaldb112 - I don't live in the midwest - live in PA...but thanks for the offer. Didn't get the picture up today - once I can pin down my son to do it for me (I'll shoot for tomorrow)....I will post. I'm anxious and encourage to think it may be worth alot more :) I would rather sell to collector than a dealer.

I would think it would be worth a bit more than $150, even if it was a common date and in circulated condition or cleaned, although maybe that's all a dealer would give you for it. Heck, I would give you $155 or $160 for it, pending a picture and assuming it wasn't badly damaged.

Parklane, that 1881 appears to grade about VF-30. It has various scuffs and light scratches but I don't see any serious damage. It's a common date which carries little or no premium even in uncirculated grade. It's worth slightly more than bullion value. If you like it and can get it for $160 or less, it's probably worth it. However, for only a little more money you can likely find a lustrous AU example that will look a lot nicer.
