Archraz Pillar of the Community United States 3499 Posts	Posted 10/31/2013 9:02 pm Hi everyone, I just came upon this 1930 S Buffalo, and I am not that knowledgeable of this type of coin. How would you grade mine? What is the relative scarcity of this date/mint combination? And what type of value would you assign to it? (Redbooks always seem to be off the mark). BuffalosRock Pillar of the Community United States 500 Posts	Posted 11/01/2013 2:51 pm I agree with weerdsteev. VF with rim damage. That is NOT a full horn by a longshot. You must be able to see the tip for it to be full horn IMO. Lots of buffs have better obv than rev, this one looks pretty even. VF-20 is its max, maybe between 15-20. BuffalosRock Pillar of the Community United States 500 Posts	Posted 11/04/2013 6:07 pm From photograde and others I think a full horn is required for XF-40 grade or above. From looking at thousands of buffs I don't think I've ever seen a full horn graded ( either by a TPG or just in general ) below XF. Most ebay buffs "advertised as graded XF" don't have a full horn - because they are overgraded by the seller 98% of the time it seems! Report this Post to the Staff
