The beard and hair (obv.) shows up obvious wear. Rev. better. Toned, but no problems. Split grade. Obv. EF45, rev. AU50.
Against this one, my example would be VF35 cleaned, at best.

EF Details.. Pics are to small to make a proper call. Be very careful with these raw, many are cleaned.

I have been struggling getting the pictures to be more focused when attached to the post. I have been using the free image optimizer. Any tips?

Sometimes when you resize you have to sharpen the image a little. 600x600 pixel images would be much better. Here are your pics resized and sharpened slightly. Hard to get low res images looking decent, but you can see the wear.. Below is a Hapalua graded PCGS XF45:

This seems like an interesting type to grade. What is wear and what is softness of the design on his hair/beard seems blurry. I am having it graded soon so I will post the results. Thanks for looking.

These were usually well struck.. Hope you get a problem-free grade on yours.. Hawaiian coins continued to circulate for several years after the 1898 annexation to the United States. In 1903, an act of Congress demonetized Hawaiian coins, and most were withdrawn and melted, with a sizable percentage of surviving examples made into jewelry. Following melting, the maximum number of each circulating coin that could possibly exist is as follows: 10C Umi Keneta: 249,921 (250,000 Minted) 25C Hapaha: 242,600 (500,000 Minted) 50C Hapalua: 87,700 (700,000 Minted) $1 Akahi Dala: 46,300 (500,000 Minted) Ua Mau Ke Ea O Ka Aina I Ka Pono: "The Life of the Land is Perpetuated in Righteousness" - Hawaii State, Territorial & Royal motto of the Kingdom of Hawaii. Normally, sharper images show up more problems . Not so in this case. I eat humble pie. AU50 / 55.

PCGS MS-63 There was pretty significant luster when viewing in person that gave me hope for an MS grade. Needless to say I am very excited it turned out to be so. Unfortunately not all my other submissions came back as positive as this but I'll take it.

Don't everyone cheer the good news at once Here are pics in slab and of slab. I realize my original pictures were poor so these should give everyone a better look. It's a pretty cool feeling slabbing a special coin for your collection yourself. Enjoy
