Picked this up a couple coin shows ago. I love the original look and toning of this piece. Plus, the overdate is relatively obvious under low power.

Oh, man, this one's even tougher than the other one.

Do I call the whiter areas rub, or do I not? I think not. MS63.

I bought this as an AU58. To be honest, I'm not sure if there's any rub/wear on this coin. In theory this might end up in an MS62 holder. I love the originality and subtle colors on this coin. I was looking for a raw 62/1, for my album, for quite awhile. This was quite a prize at a local coin show.

Prethen,
How difficult is it to obtain this over-date variety? I was thinking of adding one to my overdate set in VG-XF to match the look of the others.

Benji: The coin isn't all that rare, but can be challenging to find. It's pretty easy to find a Mint State example. The one I'm showing here is the only raw example I've found to date. However, I might "accidentally" already have the overdate in my collection (raw) but the underdigit is very tough to see. This overdate is almost never obvious so you need at least 10X and know what you're looking for. Many times I see dealers advertising they have a 62/1 because the "2" looks like it has a dangling serif that could be from a "1"...I don't think it is, I believe that's just how they cut the date. You really need to see the underdigit and/or the die breaks that go from the star to the date to be certain that you have a good 62/1.
