i decided to check a nearby bank if they would sell me any pennies, they did $100 worth and told me they had many more if I wanted them, I got home and realized that 150 rolls were all bu rolls from 1979. would there be a premium on ebay sold by the roll? if so what would they sell for? and should I go back and get the rest? thanks

Darn right you should get the rest. Definitely money to be made by putting them on ebay. I'm sure lots of people here would buy them as well.

If they are original unopened 1979 they will sell for more than an opened one. So don't open ones you intend on selling.

now would it be safe to say that if I dont see any doubling of the date at the end of the roll that chances are there are no double dates within the roll? or are they random and could be anywhere?

You can't have it both ways. They're like Schrodinger's cat 'til you open the roll. They may even be CRW from someone's bag or box search.

You Would have to check ebay for prices. Might fetch 50 cents to a dollar a piece.

Wow tough call. I found quite a few 1979 with doubling, "79" doubling seems to be the most common. If you decide on ebay point us to the listing. Cheers!

well I went back to the bank and bought all the rest of their pennies and ended up with 3 more boxes of 1979's thats 15000 BU pennies lol, what do you think is the best idea, sell by the roll? or crack them open and search for varieties? which would be most profitable? thanks again
