Quote: what do you think is the best idea, sell by the roll? or crack them open and search for varieties? which would be most profitable? The most profitable way is to sell individually but with 15,000 pennies, that will take you a lifetime. The quickest way with the best return on your investment would be to sell by the roll. I'm another one that would be interested in a few if you put them up on ebay.

Shipping will depend on the destination. Canada post has a great rate calculator on the web site.
US untracked small packet is about $8 for 500g, which should do three rolls depending on your packaging. Canada is often a little more. You will find that it will cost you about the same to send 1 roll or 5 in Canada I bet.
I would take a bunch too.

As mentioned before, unopened rolls that may contain a variety do carry a bit of a premium where buyers are concerned. I would guess that you could safely sell them for 6-8 a roll. 1500% on your investment is not bad if you ask me

check out the doubling on this one. I have gone through 4 rolls and pulled around 25 double dates so far, I am also seeing the other varieties like filings on leaves triple cocoon die clash extra metal under queens neck. should I keep them as well? do they sell for a premium?

Thanks for posting those great examples of the 1979 DD. They're beautiful. You have 25,..so you can have a lot of fun with those... Some of those will definitely be .."very high grade" ..so don't get rid of them too quickly..and do get them into protective holders soon. Keep them as brilliant as possible by keeping the air away from them.. . . .

Very nice coins! Bet you will find a lot more with doubling, it is quite common in 1979.
Any luck with MS-63/64/65 so far?

i haven't counted but I'm sure I have over 100 double date coins so far. I am keeping them in a jar with a lid and I have ordered 1000 2x2 holders and I dont think I have any ms-65's yet but I'm sure I will find a few I think most are ms-63-64, I'm going to keep a couple of each variety (triple cocoon filings on leaf die clash etc..) but thats it as I will try to sell some "partially" searched rolls as well as never opened rolls and I might try to sell some singles as a buy it now
