Hello folks. I am not a collector, but have $50 note with a green corner. It looks like it has been folded along the line where the green colour is. It also has pinholes through it. I just thought I'd better check it out before it gets spent.
I am going to try to upload a pic, but may not be successful as I am new to this. So apologies if it all goes haywire. Any help appreciated. Cheers.

I'd be inclined to say something has stained it but I can't say for sure.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my query Mr T. I think you are probably right that it has been stained in some way. I just found it very interesting how perfect the triangle of colour is and only on one side. I guess I'll probably never know how it was done, but at least it led me to find this very interesting site. Cheers and thanks.
