And this is the other coin that has some color problem. Please help me grade and value it.

Thanks you very much.

That doesn't look like a color problem but rather corrosion. I'll let the experts confirm though.

Gold is inert and will not corrode.
Both are London mint.
Grade cannot be properly established from the pictures...but
there is little difference between BV & UNC.
Maybe £125 each.

Gold coins can in fact tone a little over a period of many decades. It depends on how much alloy is in them, as how aggressive the storage conditions may be.

In this case I am not altogether happy in that flat pitted area in the King's neck. This coin should be checked for weight, but it otherwise looks OK.

Once the weight has been confirmed, then a grading and value can be considered.

A half sov should weigh 3.99g and be 19.5mm dia
The pure gold content for 22ct = 91.67%
The value regardless of condition will be + or - 10% £125
A dealer will want to pay below spot...you might achieve slightly above on ebay
until their selling and paypal fees are taken.

I appreciate very much your answers.

When I received it like 20 years ago the coin was already like you see in the pictures, so it's not my storage. I have my coins in coin holders.

Now, I have some questions:

1)Is it possible to "clean" the coin? Not me, but by a specialist? Or maybe anyway it doesn't worth because of the price?

2)The coin weigh 7.9 g (so it's not a half sov?) and the diameter is like 21 mm. Why you ask? You think is not authentic?

THANKS!

A full sovereign weighs 7.98g and is 22.05mm dia.
You could have a couple of Beruit specials which were good copies and generally fairly good quality gold.

Try a remeasure.

Both coins weigh between 7.9 g and 8 each one (sometimes the scale give me a read of 7.9 sometimes 8 and it has an accuracy of 0.1g) so I guess it's ok.
About the diameter they have between 21.5 and 22 mm but I don't have a digital coin measure so the accuracy shouldn't be very good.

Now, you said in past comment that both coins are London Mint but the 1909 sov: https://goccf.com/t/161970 I've just realised it has an "S" so shouldn't be Sydney Mint that one?

A bit confused.

Apologies
I replied initially on the 08 and was too lazy to go back to the 09.
The S is for Sydney.
The values are about the same.
Approx x2 of half sovereigns BV.
I think you can now be safe that they are the real deal.
Recently gold has been at an all time high.I shifted a
few BV gold coins.
