And this is an English version I got from my rep: If the Mint now say the mintage is 4000, then they have increased it.

You can update the purchase limit but NOT the mintage neither the price.

Thanks for the English version, shopaholic! If anyone doesn't think that there will be a maximum of 1,500 boxes, I'll eat my antlers.

Hey, I am for the lower limit (crossing my finger), but I'm fine w/ 4K limit..... if at 4K limit, may be more people will cancel, which would make the final/revise mintage less than that and I'm ok with that too.... I definitely like the coin so far (based on the pictures I've seen).
I hope no CCF members will be missing out.

What would you like to go with those antlers Moose? A bit of pepper and salt or something more.... well I hope it stays at 1500 but with the mint these days what they say when something is first released means nothing later on... Allegory comes to mind for one.... Antler popcorn? ---->

If they changed the sets to 4000 units, how is that not false advertisement?

It's unlikely we'll ever know the true mintage of the GL sub. Anyone have anything official on the group of seven sub? I think not.
The mint simply doesn't give out that sort of information and even the 'quantity sold' numbers that they do publish are highly suspect.
For what it's worth, my rep gave me no information about the sub and it wasn't included in any of his pre-release e-mails.
BTW, it's not 'false advertising' if they subsequently make an effort to correct it. In that case, it's simply an advertising error.

Uh Oh! Does this mean I'll have to find that old recipe for Moose antler soup after I shed mine along with my interest in RCM NCLT coins?

No recipe needed, the way I see it. The only written proof of mintage are the French/English advertisements posted on this thread. I have to stick with written proof and not something said by what are called reps but, are to me, salespeople.

I wish to re-iterate:I hope the Royal Canadian Mint will stand by the quantities (1,500) they stated in information about the Great Lakes coin subscription which some Master Club members received from their personal mint representatives in both official languages:

I hope it's 1500 rather than 4000 too...just wouldn't hold my breath or bet my antlers on it.

Not to worry, CC. If I lose my antlers, I'll just grow a new set.

Let's hope for the smallest number.
But please do not forget: if the set itself not serialized (common additonal COA), so we speak only about amount of wooden cases and not the coins, which almost (if not at all) doesn't have any influence on the "rarity" of the coins.
