I've got a question for y'all. I was searching rolls of quarters earlier this morning. In my area, rolled coin is delivered in clear, plastic wrapped rolls.

I immediately spotted a solid silver band in the middle of the roll and thought to myself, "Sweet! It's a silver quarter unless it turns out to be foreign."

Well, it wasn't foreign. It turned out to be a 1999-P Delaware State Quarter.

No-Copper-Band-In-This-1999-Delaware-Quarter?

It isn't a proof, and from what I'm seeing, it isn't a coin from a mint set. The strike is too off center (I think) to be a mint set quality struck coin.

I bounced it and it does not make that telltale sound that silver makes.

So...what do I have? A clad quarter that isn't showing a band of copper?

Could be a plated one from one of those silver plated sets.

You can even see on the ribs that they don't look that well defined and sharp. Good indication of a plated coin.

I found another one today. This one is a 2004-P Michigan State Quarter.

I've been finding a lot of silver lately. People are spending their coins not realizing what's in their possession.

Me thinks it's going to be a good holiday season this year!

QVC set...see them posted on here often. QVC did sets in silver, gold, and platinum plating...some of which...to the frustration of as friend of mine....the series was never complete by QVC. He was collecting all three metal sets and I think the only one that they ran to the end of the statehood series was the silver ones. The others were discontinued mid stream

Believe me, QVC is NOT the only place to have done this. And your friend should be able to comlete all three metals fairly easily.
