Coin 1, your wolf and twins URBS Roma coin is nice and would benefit from a gentle soak in olive oil as the lack of relief makes me think it may clean further to be a nice little coin and may ha
ve alot of grime in the gaps. Second URBS would benefit from being left outside in the wind for a year under a porch as the oxidation process will darken the highlighted areas. Attributable coin though.
Coin 3 ....needs no further cleaning at all IMO as it has a beautiful patina and would be ruined by anything other than a gentle soak in DW for a day or two and then a gentle rub with a cotton bud....you dont want it ending up like coin 2!
Coin 6, leave well alone same as 3 nice patina, very nice.
coin 7, leave in the porch with coin 2!
another way to darken highlighted coins, not one I would recommend usually, but highly effective and instant is to get some sulphur powder from ebay (couple of quid) put small amount in a flame proof dish and ignite it. Once the powder has melted (it will still be alight with almost invisible flame), extinguish it carefully and leave outside for a day in the dry. You will be left with a small lump of hard yellow chalk like substance. Rub this gently on the highlighted areas and then wait 30 seconds. The shiny bits will be gone or greatly dulled. Be very careful of the fumes when doing the burning bit as sulphur stinks and is not good for you when burning......your neighbours will love you!!)
Nice little group this.....well done on getting them.
