BtW, How much does a box of halves cost? Do the boxes have 50 or 100 rolls?

Nice haul! You will find many nice 65-69 Kennedys in near BU condition, as they just were not circulated like many other coins. I still find it amazing in this day that there are unknowledgeable (not kind to say ignorant) tellers out there, as they have been cherry-picking even the customer dime rolls in my area for some time.

Hey Atticguy, my bank charges face value, $500 boxes or $1000 bags depending which bank or credit union you belong too. I have heard that some banks charge $5.00 to make an order. I have not experienced that as of yet.

arby96: I asked the Head Cashier at work today if she could order me a box of halves. She said yes but that I'd have to pay 'up front' (meaning 2-3 days before I got the coins) as the price would come out of the company's account right away.
I will probably wait until after the big coin show in the area the weekend after Thanksgiving. I have to make sure I have some liquidity in case I find something I like there.

Atticguy: That is crazy, if you have been a customer of theirs for a long time, I would have a chat with the Bank President, Banks shouldn't be taking money for anything upfront. Plus even if you don't pick them up someone will. I would find another bank. That teller is a you shouldn't have to put up with that.

Arby; I don't work at a bank, I work in a retail store. We order change weekly for customer transactions. Evidently, when we place the order (Tuesday) for Friday delivery, the face value of the order is debited from my store's bank account immediately. I have ordered boxes of cents and nickels before and have paid when I picked them up, but due to the amount of money involved for a box of halves, my company would prefer I pay in advance so their $500 wouldn't be 'floating' for four or so days. Back in the old days it wouldn't have been a big problem, but sales (income) is down so they are watching their cash flow.

Atticguy, understand, Do you have a wells fargo near you, if so open a small savings account and order from them. They are really good to me here in my town.
