I just came across a 14k gold coin ring with a 1945 M 2 Pesos gold coin.....

My question is this, I am going to sell on ebay, but rule of thumb, do I sell as a piece, or do I separate the coin and scrap the ring...

Just wondering what most people's preferences would be when buying something like this

I would separate the ring from the coin, hopefully the coin is just seated in the ring.

post some pictures of it.

Tough call.

I think I'd leave them joined. The ring seems nice, it's not a hugely-valuable coin on its' own, and it's likely been adversely affected by its' time in the setting. So, you won't get any numismatic value out of it; only gold. Without the ring, it's just a small piece of gold bullion. With the ring, it might just be the perfect Christmas present for some wife to buy her husband (assuming it's a man's ring; otherwise switch those words around). Rings can be sized, but try to determine the size and mention that in the auction.

Agreed; the coin is already likely to be damaged; separate them and all you're likely to end up with is two pieces of scrap gold.
