Here is another penny that seems to have some kind of doubling in the L in Liberty. Would like to know your thoughts. Thanks.

It will help you learn if you look these up at http://www.coppercoins.com yourself. IF, and I mean IF that is an underbar on the "L", you can look the coin up on coppercoins, and look for the markers to match the coin you have. Its tough to say what it is. I can only tell you what I see from what your offering - and right now, I can't offer much.

To me, it looks like the other letters might be suffering from alittle ejection / Machine Doubling or Die Deterioration. if you look closely at the coin, it will tell you things...to me, the ejection goes from West to East on the "L", but that doubling is also evident on the other letters as well.

A simple picture of a word for me is not enough. Most will ask to see a picture of other areas that are commonly doubled, like IGWT and the date. Others will require at least a full pic of the Obverse, if not both the Obverse and Reverse.

Some years, A LOT of them in the 1960's and 1970's have had the "L" almost on the rim which produced many different looking coins. Sometimes the "LIBERTY" area would be affected, but other times I have seen the date side affected since the coin probably had a very slight issue ejecting the coin due to the die part of the "L" trying to eject due to the die being surrounded (engulfed) with extra metal around that "L", since it was so close to the rim.
