On a separate note, I recently went to a bank branch which has a free coin counter for account-holding customers. I naturally thought that this might be a good chance to find some unsearched goodies. I went to the teller and asked for $10 in cents. When I got home, out of all 20 rolls, I got only one copper. Either someone uses this branch as a dump (likely), or the bank is hoarding copper. I will not be going back there.

Ouch! Your second pickup bank...

I wouldn't use any bank with a coin counter as a pickup bank. Follow the other Hunter's example and dump your coins there too. Keep trying! You will find a good bank soon.

Why dont you randomly try them one more time and if you get the same result then somethings happening there, maybe this was one freak accident with those rolls ....

You really need to read up on this forum and develop your technique before dissing up a bank that you've only given one shot at.

What else did you search the rolls for?

Thanks... I may give that branch one more try, but there are also plenty of other branches in my area. In addition to coppers, I also search for errors and some varieties (wide AMs, doubling, missing letters & dates, etc.). I have found some pretty interesting stuff (in nickel rolls, too), but nothing worth very much. I simply enjoy hand searching rolls and finding wheats and other stuff, just for fun (I do not expect to make any money). It will be some cool stuff to show my grandkids some day (if I ever have any). If I can figure out how to get some photos of my finds, I can post some of the more interesting ones.
