Besides from the obvious like wheats and copper.

I have only been picking some dates from my zinc cents and still have about 2.5 gallons (in jars) of copper to search through.

What dates do you check for errors? Copper and zinc.

What else do you keep? I keep all San Fran. mint and I've heard people keep 59-63 because of low mintage?

I posted this a week or so ago and still stands for me:

I have been adding dates slowly, but as of now I set aside (P and D) : 82, 83, 84, 88, 94, 97, 06, 09. Maybe 04 and 11 if they are in BU condition.

I check 92, 98, 99, 00 as I find them.

Most newer zincs have some DDRs that I check for on other dated zincs if they are in good condition

I also check for all kinds of errors, even small ones I sometimes keep.

JustinNH pretty much nailed it. I keep everything 1982 and down unless they are covered in something strange or something like that. I keep all 2009's, all s mints, and search for the wide and close ams.

Thanks, what I have been pulling is pretty much this:
82 to weigh, but which ones have errors?
83 P/D used to but stopped because I couldn't keep up with how many I was finding. too much work.
84 P/D same as 83
88 P/D to check for the transition design error right?
92 P/D I pull these to go through later but I should probably do it as I go.
94 P for the doubling of the pillars
96 P I don't know
97 P for what? double ear? I haven't looked for errors recently
98-00 P check as I go
06 P
11 P
should I check 04 and 09? and for what?
I also pull s mint, BU, PMDs (just the best because hey, it's 1 cent), 2009's, and wheats.

Do you know which copper coins have errors worth looking for? 1960 small date? its common but yes or no? early 60's because of low mintage?

For most of the questions, you can go to coppercoins.com , die variety search, and then type in the date. You can pick and choose which ones to look for-- some are hard to see, some plain as day.

For your 83s, before you throw them back due to so many, check for the big doubled die. Its easy to see without any magnification. Same with 84. The doubled ear is easy to see. That being said, no I have not found either.

Yes, 88P/D is for the transitional reverse. There may be over varieties in that year too though.
