with the above grading.
The Akahi Dala seems to be the scarcest of the series, and the price tables reflect that.
I have a hapalua in about the same condition, and is included at the end of the American section in my collection of World coins, ancient to modern.

Getting hard to find these problem-free..
Thought this one had good color and surfaces for the grade.

"..In 1903, an act of Congress demonetized Hawaiian coins,
& most were withdrawn and melted, with a sizable percentage
of surviving examples made into jewelry. Following melting,
the maximum number of surviving circulating coins that could
possibly exist is as follows:

10C Umi Keneta: 249,921 (250,000 Minted)
25C Hapaha: 242,600 (500,000 Minted)
50C Hapalua: 87,700 (700,000 Minted)
$1 Akahi Dala: 46,300 (500,000 Minted)

The two x Hapaha coins that I do have are both damaged as a result of jewelry mounting.

I have a complete set of them mounted in Koa wood (compliments of another CCF member). My "Dala" is an ex XF45 and this one is close. I'm thinking VF-35 on it. Great coin. I love the Hawaii series. PG
