I have a hapalua in about the same condition, and is included at the end of the American section in my collection of World coins, ancient to modern. Report this Post to the Staff

"..In 1903, an act of Congress demonetized Hawaiian coins, & most were withdrawn and melted, with a sizable percentage of surviving examples made into jewelry. Following melting, the maximum number of surviving circulating coins that could possibly exist is as follows: 10C Umi Keneta: 249,921 (250,000 Minted) 25C Hapaha: 242,600 (500,000 Minted) 50C Hapalua: 87,700 (700,000 Minted) $1 Akahi Dala: 46,300 (500,000 Minted) Report this Post to the Staff
