It doesn't look (quite) as nice the ebay pictures, but there's no doubt it's an extremely nice AU-58 example. The pictures on ebay were blown up and really make the tones and colors stand out. I think because in hand it's smaller, its features don't stand out as well. But there's no doubt when you inspect the coin that it is indeed choice for the grade. I took some pictures of my own, but my own pictures don't look as good as in hand. I use my wife's digital camera, and I can't get the lighting right. And when I do find just the right light my own hand and camera casts a shadow. Either that or I get a reflection off the slab. So here's the best a novice can do with a cheap cam and household lighting. Cheers! Edited by USArmyParatrooper 06/22/2007 9:29 pm

As long as you're happy with your purchase, that's all that matters. It's a nice 3-legged.

I'm glad that you waited to find the right one. This coin will be worth more to you because you took more time to find the right one.

Nice Buff Paratrooper! But why would you want one that only has 3 legs?

I'm 90% sure that was a joke? :) Just in case it wasn't, it's a very popular error for that year/mint.

Wow! I feel stupid! I sold all my 3 legged Buffalo 5c for $1.00 each because they ONLY had 3 legs on the obverse!! Good to know though.

USArmyParatrooper: Nice coin. Try copying the picture from the ebay lot. Sometimes you can copy and paste it. Good luck.

OK I'm not sure if this was sarcastic or not but if it's true, you passed possibly up a couple thousand dollars. Andrew

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!! I'm done with Three-Legs! I'm going after an 09-S VDB and I will NOT be buying from this seller. Take a look at the picture. There's a gouge that I did not see at first. I brought it to my trusted dealer and he saw it right away. There's no way if the gouge was seen it would have graded 58. I just suck. So here's a picture of the gouge, and below it their ebay photo where the light hits it perfectly (to hide it). I'm zero for two thus far. As much as I try to learn, be patient and careful, it seems I have a difficult time making smart buying choices. So it's going back tomorrow and my journey continues. I have some 09-S VDB's I'm looking at. But still, thanks for all the help and advice along the way! This website has been a God sent.

That sucks, although It could have been much, much worse. Like if it was fake or the gouge was really noticible. It really isn't that bad. I still like it!

You're right, pattie. It really isn't that bad. Had I paid for AU-50 or 53 I would be OK with it. But I paid for what was supposed to be a superb 58. It's more of a hassle of returning it and the shipping fees.
