I'm thinking it could be gold as besides the 1223 date there are numerals of 7810 which I wonder if they stand for .7810 purity. Anyhow, I've been fooled before so not getting my hopes up but I'd really like to find out if anyone can help! Weight is approx. 0.5g, diameter around 16.7mm and it's paper thin. Do a Forum search for "Year 78" and you will find several similar replicas with a similarly fictitious date. And no, it's not actually made of gold.
