I have an all silver Canadian 2 dollar mistake coin and just want to know if its rare or the value. This coin is heavier than a regular 2 dollars. If you have any info please message me back.

This is not a fake. I've been trying to find out if this is a rare or valuable coin for years now. I've looked into it and there's some 2007 all silver 2 dollar mistake coin but I haven't found some in 2005. If you any info message me back

The middle is punched in silver. They must of forgotten to change over the steel sheet to bronze. That's why the coin is heavier than normal, if it would be fake it would weigh the same.

I weighed this coin by a collector about 2 years ago so I know it's heavier. I don't have a scale that accurate, so I will get that weight for you as soon as possible.

I know it's a wrong planchet punched in and it weighs more, I got it checked by a coin collector. I just want to know if its rare or valuable.

unslabbed 700.00 to 1200.00 my guess, have seen another 2005, you don't see too many for sale, get an accurate weight if it is 7.8 grams you probably have a copy.

My guess was about that to cause the 2007 was valued at 700. So did you buy yours or found it.

Can you tell if the coin is one piece or 2? I can not tell from the pic. Knowing what the weight is will help a lot. Need a bit more info then just that it is heavier then a normal twoonie. If it is a true error...congratulations. It looks great.

It looks like they didn't remove the core and just minted it all nickel or silver. If it's 2 pieces, they may have used a british core - theirs is the reverse of ours - brown ring, silver or nickel core. I know they make gold and silver toonies. But yours looks like it's one piece and also seems frosted - I'd hang on to that one, definitely, and try to get it appraised and certified. I know it's not common, and worth furtur investigation by someone more knowledeable than me.
