Before all of the experts out there start calling me down on this, please look at the photos first, then you`ll see why I posted this 1942 nickel.I`m most likely wrong on this, but,I am aware of a 1942, 12 sided trial piece struck in nickel, perhaps, just maybe, a 1942 round was struck in tombac. Just a theory, but would it not be nice if it was true! These pictures are of a nickel I found a long time ago,and I realized, after going through ALL my older nickels, the color, or toning on this one always stood out!
ah shucks, it stuck.how dumb of me.Oh well,I knew it was a million to one shot. Thanks DBM,guess I have a lot to learn yet, also, I later realized, that,NCC would have a record of creating such a piece, but we can dream, cant we?
