Hi folks! After much deliberation, I've decided on what to get as my first Canadian decimal set: one from 1913 . 2013 was a blessed year for me, so it would be nice to have a century-old set from 2013; moreover I already have the $5 and $10 gold pieces from that year. My only criterion is that I'll need to get MS-63 or better coins (any TPGs will do). So, I guess I'll have to collect all 5 pieces plus a so very hard to find (at least in such better conditions) BL dime. Any other major varieties you can think of? Regards! Thanks for your offer, but don't get me wrong, currently I'm super-broke and this is just a loooooooooong time goal, really. So unless you want to "donate" a (presumably great quality) 1913 BL for a couple of hundred bucks... , I guess I'll have to pass .

"...need to get MS-63 or better coins..." Yeah right! You guys must had been laughing hard at me, eh? Change of plans: 1. Any "good-looking-coin" will do (and there goes the subjective factor ). 2. Will be all TPG'ed (most likely CCCS). Just got the SL dime today; raw and lightly circulated .

The 1 cent and 5 cent aren't horrible pricewise. The 10 cents small leaves is significant, but you should be able to get a significant discount shopping around. The 10 cent broad leaves in MS will cost the price of a new car. The 25 cent may be obtainable for less than $1k in MS-63, and for the 50 cent, you're looking at the price of a used car in MS-63.
Good luck and good hunting.

Oh, and the 5c and 10c pieces were ex-ICCS MS 63s. I cut them out from their outer flips and sent them in their inner flips to CCCS, and guess what, they were returned as MS-63s! I'm very happy to see the consistency between these two conservative Canadian graders.

Looks really good osmiumblue. The CCCS hard holders show off the coins nicely. :)
