I am helping my kids collect the State Quarters and while going through roles I found this quarter. It has a gold color on the reverse side let me know what you think.

It ia an ATB "America the Beautiful " series. It took the place of the State Quarters when that series ended. It commemorates a state park in all fifty states.
That one commemorates Denali State Park in Alaska. The "D" on the obverse signifies that it was minted in Denver

The gold tint is probably a little oxidation.

or a thin coating of glue or something on the coin

Not sure but I have seen some coins that sat at the end of rolls tone like that.
