Hi all,

I found your site whilst trying to research a medallion I have been given. It seems to commemorate the Conseil des Cinq Cents (Counsel of the Five Hundred) and is made by someone called Gatteaux. I'd be most grateful for any further information please - my research suggests it was made in the 18th century and I can only find a couple of other examples, one octagonal like mine and one pentagonal or hexagonal and these are in the Penn University museum and another University museum in the US.

Many thanks in advance!

The medal was made for the parliament.
The space below 'Constitution de l'an trois' was provided to put the name of the person this medal was contributed to.
