This is going to sound like an odd question, but I received an email from, who I believe to be a rep from the mint, offering to place orders on 20 for 20 Santa coins. I've never been assigned a rep as I buy all my coins from a dealer and online, and the language in the email seems to suggest that he's able to procure more than the restricted 3 online for "his customers". Did anybody else receive this email? Is this an offer for everyone? As was my understanding, if the RCM offers you a rep, the rep sends you an email offering you his services with some sort of personal and explanatory introduction. Any thoughts?

Yes, that exactly the email I received months ago, so yes he'll be your rep. congratulations! Don't expect big introductions, he wants just your $$$$ :-)

Thanks for the clarification arianzo. Did you end up taking the rep offer?
I'm not entirely certain if I need a rep. I'm moved most of my purchases of coins to my dealer as he can get things on time and hasn't failed me yet. But it's good to know that it's an option and one that I could possibly take up.

Thanks for the link arianzo. I remember reading about it awhile back but couldn't find the posting myself. It might be in my best interest to order a few coins just so I can establish a connection. I just am reluctant to buy for the sake of buying.

@ cookiecutter!
arianzo is correct in all respects.
It can't hurt to place a small order if you really want the coins, just to establish a relationship with your new rep, and even if you never buy from him very often.

What can the rep do for you? Does every MC members has a rep?

I got one too. I've already ordered the coins; I don't need more. But if he could only somehow get them to ship the coins...

cookie.... in this kind of coins ($20x$20, $100x$100) it's better to buy directly form the Mint. The dealers sell them between 20-25% over issue price so is a good opportunity in a non-lose deal.

Quote: What can the rep do for you? Does every MC members has a rep? They can help you find coins that are sold out. Not all MC members have a rep. I think you get a rep if you buy a lot of coins. They contact you; you don't call them to get a rep. If you get a rep, you get advance notice of coins; like a week ahead of time. So you can get hot coins ahead of everyone else.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think I'm going to order a few of the 20 for 20 if only to establish the relationship. Perhaps it might be advantageous in the future with popular coins that sell out fast.
Also, aren't the ones the dealers sell of the 20 for 20 the ones covered in plastic wrap? But the ones received in the mint are only in the envelope?

From RCM I receive the plastic wrap glued to the envelope.

Take the rep. Mine has been great as I have ordered and cancelled items and even when I was on holidays I just told him what I wanted and he completed the order. He got me the Autumn Bliss last week after I asked him in September. He must make notes on my file because it showed up as processing and I hadn't mentioned it for two months. I did send him an email about shipping delays and he never replied to that - no money in it for him I guess.
