Amazing! Could you give some information on how this came about.

I strongly suspect it is an assisted error. It's hard to see how a Canadian cent planchet struck with Israeli 10 shekel dies could accidentally make it back into the Canadian cent production stream. Furthermore, it appears that the coin was struck in-collar. The cent planchet should have expanded beneath the 10 shekel dies, making it impossible to fit back into the collar. It's possible that after the 10 shekel strike, the off-metal coin was sent back through the upsetting mill to reduce its diameter once again.

I'll go on record with my opinion that this was absolutely an 'assisted' error ... and Fred Weinberg knew that when he sold it.

I have no beef with the seller ... just amazed that in todays world of mint security such a dubious 'error' could be made and spirited out for resale.
