So, I didn't receive any email but RCM has a new subscription: http://www.mint.ca/store/coin/2014-...-prod1730033

When RCM just released the FIFA coin now in November I knew they'd offer more coins as the tournament is in July but didn't think so fast.

The 4 coins come from: Argentina, Spain, Paraguay and Ivory Coast.

What I don't like is the sterling silver and taxes

----------------------------------

The world's biggest sporting event is around the corner! The action starts in Brazil in June 2014. The Royal Canadian Mint is pleased to offer you this exclusive collection of The Official commemorative coins of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilâ„¢, sourced from four major soccer nations of the world: Spain, Argentina, Ivory Coast and Paraguay.

The official commemorative coin of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilâ„¢ from Spain will be the highlight of this collection â€" it features the coveted FIFA World Cup Trophy making its way from Spain, the reigning FIFA World Cupâ„¢ Champions, to Brazil, host country of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazilâ„¢.

Score these advantages of the complete collection:
• A free collection case for all 4 coins, delivered with your 4th coin
• You receive the first and only silver 2014 FIFA World Cup™ commemorative coin issued by the two-time champion, Argentina
• A four-coin collection of unique 2014 FIFA World Cup™ coins sourced from around the world

Dates are different and also the coins vary in size if that matters to anyone.

So ...... a four coin set, sold by the Royal Canadian Mint comprised of coins sourced from four other countries (not Canada), to commemorate a sporting event taking place in yet another country (not Canada)......... do I understand this right ?

That is correct except the RCM will make some money as the distributor.

I wonder how many Canucks even follow the games. I don't know any of my friends that have even a passing interest in the sport. I didn't know Canada even has a team. I thought our coins were pricy, I think these top them. They are small and sterling silver to boot, so there's taxes involved. I wonder how long it will take other nations to start minting pure silver Nclt coins. I wish to mint would bring in some of the cooler Australian minted coins, shipping is a killer from there.
