OK, I'll use the Corinth stater for the official entry. It's my favorite coin and the first 'major' ancient I bought. CORINTHIA, Corinth.345-307 BC AR stater, 8.65 gm Obv: Pegasus flying left, qoppa below Rev: helmeted head of Athena left, wearing necklace; head of Silenus behind Ref: Ravel 1046, Calciati 408. Recently I bought HJB's book "100 Greatest Ancient coins" and was happy to see that he chose a picture of this particular stater to represent #23, Corinth stater (same reverse die with Silenus control mark) Nezak Huns, Anonymous Napki Malik coinage6th century AD AR drachm, 25 mm, 2.45 gm Obv: bust right wearing headdress surmounted by bull's skull Rev: crude fire-altar with attendants Ref: Göbl Hunnen Em 198.12. My first Hunnic (Noob is rubbing off on me)

That's hilarious...although I think Napki Malka reminds me of Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls. Especially when he had a little bit of 'fro and rocked the Bulls hat.

Here is the same emperor twice, once on an imperial coin and once on a provincial coin: Constantine as Caesar, summer 307. AE28-26. RIC Trier 719b. Constantine on the reverse of a coin of Rheskuporis V, King of the Bosporus, stuck 326/7 (Bosporus era 623, gamma K X) so we know the ruler on the reverse is Constantine.

Augustus1-- Nice Bosporus! I clicked over to your coins for sale hoping to find it there... if you decide to sell it, dibs!Noob-- LOL, Pippin does resemble that bust. Dwayne-- How do I come up with the lookalikes? Google image searches. With Silenus, it reminded me of the infamous Nolte mugshot so I googled that. Funny, but no beard. Googled for other images of Nolte and got lucky with that one-- beard and 'stache, mouth open, facing forward. Nolte is particularly appropriate because of his legendary drinking. Silenus is the god of wine and drunkenness, foster father and companion of Dionysus The bird? The hooked nose was beak-like -->googled funny birds --> chose this one because the the short hooked beak, the two-toned neck which matches the copper schmutz on the coin, the protrusion above the nose (somewhat mirroring the wing sticking out of his hat), and the wrinkly gill-like stuff at the bird's 'ear', which resembles the similar feature on the coin. Gaga? That one was tough. At first I was going to put a picture of a random beautiful woman, focused my googling on Indian/Pakistani models. Almost used a frontal headshot of Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat but she only resembles that Athena in a theoretical way. Realized that Athena's profile is somewhat like Lady Gaga's. Hoped to get really really lucky and find her with a Corinthian helmet (darn, she hasn't worn one. yet.), settled for her wearing something that looks like the crest from a Corinthian helmet.
