I thought I'd pass on the information, as I just found out. I didn't even think of posting it where it should go . My first reaction was just post in the forum I usually post in. Alas, I actually might not be able to attend this one. Square One is a tough place for me to reach, being carless. I'm hoping they'll host one in First Canadian Place (downtown Toronto) at a later time

For those in Toronto, I just heard from the RCM that there will be no coin exchanges held in Toronto for this particular series. It looks like those who are able will have to head to Mississauga. I'm hoping that the booklets will be available through some other channel as I have no way of getting out to Square One

Ya could go in either place and now it's in both so everyone is covered. I'd have as much chance of going to FCP as I would to the mint in Ottawa and well Square One is a place I personally would avoid this close to the holidays. It should be a complete madhouse at that exchange. Hopefully, the Mint will offer these coins as multi-packs from the website though getting the collector card might be a reason to go to an exchange.

I'm actually debating whether it's worth it to go to Square One for this collector card and to do the exchange. I was just considering the length of time it would take on public transportation. I hadn't even considered the madhouse atmosphere related to holiday shopping. Ughh. I avoid malls at all costs. It just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Are these coins dated 2013 or 2014?

The NCLT arctic expedition was 2013 (100th anniversary) but the life in the north is 2014 so the circulation coins will be? One of each? Edit: my apologies, the Life in the North NCLT version is listed as 2014 on mint.ca but it's actually dated 2013. That said, I'd suspect that coins being issued for circulation tomorrow would both be dated 2013 too.

Just saw this for anyone in the city of champions: Be among the first in Canada to collect the new 25-cent circulation coins from the Royal Canadian Mint celebrating life in the north, and the centennial of the Canadian Arctic Expedition. Bring your loose change, and trade it in at face value for these beautiful new coins and a free collector card! Note: limit of five collector cards, and one roll of each coin per person. You can also try your luck playing the Mint's "Catch-A-Coin" digital game, and enter a draw to win special Mint prizes! Dec 14 - Dec 15 Level Two, Phase II, near Edmonton Coin and Stamp at the West Edmonton Mall. Yikes. Going to a mall 10 days before Christmas?! That's insanity.

Wow square one is so far away. During the holiday and on a Saturday as too...finding parking will be an issue as well if you chose to drive.

Too bad they wouldn't have them available from the mint like the 1812 coins were

Does someone know how many varieties of the coins they issued?
In simple words "how many different rolls could be"?
I actually do not like the idea to drive from Toronto to Mississauga to overcrowded mall, but everything is possible.
And as I understand, Mint will issue them in the packs too?

Don't quote me on this, but I think the only coin being released tomorrow is the first Life in the Arctic quarter (perhaps coloured and uncoloured?). My dealer said he received the blister packs already and only alluded to one coin. If there's a collector card, I imagine that there will be future releases/coin exchanges (similar to the 1812 series).
Perhaps the coin will look like the earlier released anniversary of the Arctic expedition coins
