What do you think of this? I've never seen one of these (obviously) and want to determine if it's a true mintset or something just cobbled together as some of the coins look circulated. It has each coin from 1957 with D and "P" mintmarks. I've included some pics of the coins that look to be circulated.

Thanks

it looks like an original double mint set to me ,, now that does not mean that some of the coins have not been changed out for others of lesser quality ? That is something I would need to see the coins in hand to determine.

I see coins which have not been stored in an appropriate way ,, that have kinda unattractive toning on them ,,they do not look circulated to me from the pics.

Bad.
I just looked at a 57 mint set in the proof and mint sets reference book by Ron Guth. It does look like a 1957 mint set however the coins in that set do not have the eye appeal that I would want to buy.

I also agree with everyone, it looks like an authentic mint set. Although, it seems to have suffered from some environmental damage.

most of the mint sets from that era toned badly like this, thats why the ones that didn't tone sell for so much.

So it's normal for some of the coins to have a worn look like that? Just seems some detail is missing. Were the dies worn out when they made these? What's the approximate value for sets in this condition?

Thanks

Should I remove the coins from the original holder so they don't get worse? Or does that hurt the value? Sorry, I'm lost here!

Thanks again everyone, as always, I really appreciate your input. :)

The original packaging adds value even though the coins are poorly toned ,,I would not remove them .
