Best Buy cashiers, managers, and local cops apparently don't know what a $2 bill is, and a man spent 3 hours cuffed to a pole waiting for the Secret Service to come look at the bill.

Wow. People don't know anything these days. Imagine if he spent something like a 2 cent piece? He would probably be in jail. Actually, I have no idea how anyone, collector or not, didn't know that we made $2 bills until recently.

I like your signature by the way!

Ignorance is no defense from the Law.
What about the police? Very UNprofessional, probably professional negligence, and compensatable.

If you read the story to the end, it's not that they didn't know $2 notes existed or thought that all $2 notes must be fake, it's that they thought these particular $2 notes were fake because they spotted some with smudged ink.

Guys, this story is 100 years old. Next we'll be hearing about the guy spending the fake George W. Bush $200 bill and getting $198 in change at the Dairy Queen. Which leads me to wonder, if the government does reissue the $500 bill, and also issues a new $200 bill, I wonder if people who have seen the George W. Bush $200 bill story would refuse to accept new, real $200 bills issued be the Treasury and BEP.

I've also had some odd experiences with halves before, but there are a lot of people who know about the golden dollars, but not SBAs or Ikes. One person once thought some Ikes I spent were actually halves, and I had to flip one of the coins over, and show the clerk how they said "One Dollar" on the back.
