I spent some time checking random Lincoln cents for Double dies and stuff. So while searching how the hair go's, I discovered that in 2010 they changed the hair style. This means all Lincoln cents from 1959 to 2009 had the same hair style. (Or appears like that) I really didn't look over that many so not 100% sure what years.

50 years is a long time for a haircut... but he is a distinguished man so it only makes sense he changes it up a little every now and then. :)

I didn't look over the wheat cents but I will do that later.

If you look in the right spot, you see a few hair lines are different.
It's recommend by me to hold them this way in hands to see it. That's how I found it out.

@King, lol yeah he was.

Definitely see the difference.
That begs a question: is there a transitional obverse variety to look for now? ( I. E. 2010, obv of 2009?)

Compare 1968 with 1969.

No because the master hub is reduced from a master model each year and the date is on the model. So all the 2009 dies came from the hub withthe old hair style, and all the 2010 dies came from a different model with the new hair style.

When the 2009 cent were authorized it called for the obv design to be the same as the obv used in 1909. They didn't do that. But they did change it to a much more closely matched design to the 1909 in 2010.
