Christmas coming up - Found good albums to ask for (they only had 5 and each only holds 16 coins, but its a great format).
Im going to use a couple for emperor sets (maybe all 5) - I want one to hold the Constantinian Dynasty. I need make a proper list and decide who to put into the 16 page album and who to omitt.
Heres the people that ruled from Constantine I onwards: Constantine I The Great Constantine II Constantius II Constans Magnentius Vetriano Nepotianus Julian the Apostate Jovian Valens Valentinian I Gratian Valentinian II Magnus Maximus Flavius Victor Eugenius Theodosius I the Great Honorius Arcadius Theodosius II Marcian Leo I Zeno
The people I can get a coin of: 1. Constantine I The Great 2. Constantine II 3. Constantius II 4. Constans 5. Magnentius 6. Decentius 7. Vetriano 8. Julian the Apostate 9. Jovian 10. Valens 11. Valentinian I 12. Gratian 13. Valentinian II 14. Magnus Maximus 15. Flavius Victor 16. Theodosius I the Great 17. Honorius 18. Arcadius 19. Theodosius II 20. Marcian 21. Leo I 22. Zeno
Any I've missed? should I cull the Usurpers and put them in a different folder? The Albums have a space for info next to each coin (imagine a 3 column coin album but with 2 columns merged)

Heres a picture, they're designed for a polish set but the info cards in polish are removable and thats where ID info will go.

I would keep usurpers separated, but include info on which emperors they rebelled against.

I had a somewhat good idea last month. Wanted to make my own custom-divided pocket sheets.
Had some full page sized sleeves (for 3-ring binders), got out the food bag sealer thingy (I think they're called impulse sealers, maybe heat sealers-- the type used for vacuum-sealing systems)...
Was not very neat looking but with better planning and patience it could be good. I wanted to have rows as tall as a standard flip; single vertical division towards the free end forming a pocket for the flip, leaving a longer rectangle towards the binder side. That way I'd have more room for a larger attribution card. Obviously I had to use a razor to cut open the tops of the newly formed pockets.

I have long kept my coins is flips with the info written neatly on the card and I ran into the problem of how to organize 200 + coins. Do I do it by chronological order, ruling authority, Empire, geographical location, type of ruler or type of coin. All could work and all could not work so, they are where they are and I have to hunt for the coin I want, oh well. I have recently considered converting my binder over to felt trays, but I have yet to pull the trigger. If it ends up being made of wood, I need it to be the right wood in order to not gas chemicals on my coins. So I thought about aluminum and still have not pulled the trigger. So in a nut shell there is no good way to categorize ancient coins so therefore I have given up.

I have told this to Ben before.
I get proper 2x2 double flips (coin safe) for the coins. Ordinary ring binder, inserts for postcards, 9 to the page. Flip goes in the pocket. Coin in one side of the flip, label in the other side of the flip. Coin shows through the page, turn over to see some of the details of the coin (not all, the label is folded). Currently a mini mini post it note goes on the front of the flip with the name of the emperor.
Eventually going to print out and names of the emperors and replace the post it notes.
It is cheap and cheerful and will do for the moment. Most expensive bit is the coin safe double flips.
