Instead, a siliqua! Not sure if bidders were asleep or busy or whatever, because I was able to score this nice, non-clipped siliqua of Constantius II for only $23 a couple of weeks ago. Definitely one of my best deals ever imo.

Obv: DN CONSTAN-TIVS PF AVG, pearl-diademed, draped bust right
Rev: VICTORIA DD NN AVG, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm, one wing visible
LVG in ex, Lugdunum mint
Ref: RIC VIII 214
17 mm, 1.63 gr

Yes, not a bad price ...... I only have one siliquae which my wife found when we went out metal detecting. Its a Julian VOT rev.... Lucky her!!

Only $23? Thats a great deal!

Theres some real interesting siliquae out there but it seems that almost all are the shoddy Votive issues.

Nice. Good overall details and quite a bargain at that price. I also only own one Siliqua. An Honorius.

Must be exciting to find any ancient coin in the ground. Too bad I'm an ocean away from ancient coin country

I have detected for many hundreds if not thousands of hours....she comes out for an hour and turns this up! on a temple site, so I guess it was votive.
