I'm new at coin collecting and would like opinions on my most recent acquisition. The coin was purchased via ebay from a reputable seller. It is a papal scudo dated 1837. I am still waiting for the delivery but here are two photos,

This coin appears to be in too good a condition for a 19th century piece. Is it a modern fake or an original?

From the various fakes I have seen here... yours is not looking too good.

However, I'm nowhere close to an expert on any of this stuff.

Unfortunately a modern fake, and does not appear to be made of silver.

Wow that's quite a bit of money. Is it magmatic or sounds silver ? How about the weight ?

Is it magmatic

I assume it's not, unless it is being shipped as a hazardous material in a very insulative container.

The OP cannot test for magnetism right now:

but it's almost definitely a fake.
